Ryan deGive is a seasoned health care leader, who is also passionate about the built environment and the community around him. Ryan began his career in health care working in Patient Registration and Bed Control, later holding leadership roles in Hospital Patient Flow and Throughput operations. Ryan currently works in fiscal operations leadership within the County Public Health system, supporting procurement, revenue and expenditure activities for grant and publicly funded programs. He holds a several industry certifications, including two Epic Systems certifications and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and is a previous board member of the California Association of Healthcare Leaders (CAHL) a local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Prior to joining the health care sector, Ryan was originally an architecture major with interests in residential design. Over the years his interests in design have expanded to include Urban Design and its impact on health, safety, the local economy and small businesses. Ryan is currently completing his Master of Science in Planning and Development with a Concentration in Urban and Community Planning from East Carolina University. His goal is to eventually transition into a career within City Planning, Transportation Planning, or Community and Economic Development. A Bay Area native, Ryan grew up in San Jose and now lives in the East Bay with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing the guitar, studying Italian and Gaelic on Duolingo and working on projects around the house. Ryan enjoys traveling to family favorite destinations including Disneyland, the Central Coast and Tahoe, with travel goals of visiting other US locations, Europe, Canada and Mexico in the future.
